I am writing to suggest a new feature that could significantly enhance the security and usability of your product: automatic password protection for PDF documents. This feature will increase the security of clients' data when sending tax returns and accounts for approval via email.
Currently, Iris Element lacks this essential functionality, which is critical for compliance with data protection regulations. Sending client documents (accounts and tax returns etc) without a password does not convey a professional image and may put sensitive information at risk.
This feature would include options to assign passwords based on specific client information, such as their NI Number, Date of Birth, or UTR Number. Implementing this capability would provide an additional layer of security, ensuring that sensitive documents are accessible only to the intended recipients.
The ability to password protect PDF documents seamlessly within your platform would be a valuable addition, greatly benefiting users who handle confidential information regularly.
We will soon release integration with OpenSpace, which allows sharing of client documents (accounts and tax returns) through a secure portal removing the need to password protect PDFs
